Dec 12, 1920 Bridgeport, Conn. Praised be Lord Jesus Christ and glorious name of Virgin Mary my dear mommy hundredfold and thousandfold greetings and wish you all good especially in this new year may God in heaven give you better health and His heavenly blessing I’m letting you know that I received your letter and I was in the city hall and I arranged everything for you to be able to get some aid well it was a little bit difficult because you have those belongings so the officials think that you can live off it but I explained that you as my mother are ill and my brothers are not able to work either because they were also unhealthy well they accepted these reasons and now I have to send you this letter sign it where the cross is and a notary should also sign it and put the municipal seal I think that you will be not able to fill it out but go to the next Red Cross they will fill everything out for you but say rightly that you are ill you have a small property off which you can’t live properly and get clothed also mention that I had helped you a bit before war but after I had joined the American army where I was two years and where I was maimed now I draw pension from which I can’t help you because it is just enough for me well take care of it to arrange everything and when you have that large letter signed your name where the cross is and then two witnesses are necessary to sign it and then either a notary or attorney and then there is a place where time of issuing will be put but don’t take your time I will get nice money for you So one more time hearty and sincere greetings my dear mommy and I wish you good health the same to my brothers Imriško and Vojteško and I wish you all good sound health so I’m closing this letter I commit you to God’s care and I remain your faithful son up to my death Paul Kovacs. 201 Hallam.
