Two young girls kneel at the gravesite of Jan Pesek, Sr. (b. 1827, d. 1911 ) in 1916. Jan Pesek was the father of Jan Martin Pesek, who worked in St. Paul as a mail carrier until 1933. The epitaph on the grave marker is written in Czech. The grave is probably located near Montgomery, Minnesota or St. Paul, Minnesota.
