Latvian Saturday School children's Christmas program at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Volunteers at the Children's Saturday School have been active in teaching Latvian language, history and culture since its inception in the 1950's.

Latvian Livs at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C.. The Livs are a minority group living in the northwestern part of Latvia. They have their own language and traditions. There are only about 100 Livs who speak the language. Although small in numbers, in 1998 the Livs were represented by one of their own in the Latvian Saeima.
