George Belden (owner of the Minneapolis Millers) and the Minneapolis YMCA started the Knot Hole program in 1920. Boys escorted by the Minneapolis YMCA were allowed free entry into the stadium to watch the baseball games. In 1920 alone 1000 boys attended seven games. The program remained popular for many years.
