Latvian Livs at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C.. The Livs are a minority group living in the northwestern part of Latvia. They have their own language and traditions. There are only about 100 Livs who speak the language. Although small in numbers, in 1998 the Livs were represented by one of their own in the Latvian Saeima.
