Unity, a Karen refugee from Burma, spent two years living in a refugee camp in Thailand before being resettled to the United States with her father and sister. She lives in St. Paul where she studies English at the Ronald M. Hubbs Center for Lifelong Learning.

Ta Nay Gay was born in Burma. Her family faced restrictions and violence from the Burmese military because they are Karen. Her family left the country for Thailaind in 2006, where they lived in a refugee camp until 2012, when they were resettled in Minnesota. She has four sisters and two brothers.

Paw Mu Sie was born in Thay Baw Boe, a Karen village in Burma. In 1997, her family moved a Thai refugee camp, Nu Poe, where she went to school. Paw and her family came to the United States on January 28, 2012.

Nor Pley Htoo was born in 1999 in Ge Lo, Burma. She was born while her family was on the run from the Burmese government. In 2003 they moved to Mae Sruin Refugee camp in Thailand. In 2012 her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio and then again to Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2014.

Nathan Thin was born in Burma in 1991, and his family left the country in 1992. They left Thailand in 2008 and moved to Arizona in the United States. They moved to Minnesota in 2009. He is a student at Century College studying art.

Htun was born in Karen State, Burma. His father was killed by Burmese soldiers in 1998, and Htun grew up with a single mother. He lived in refugee camps on the Thai-Burma border for thirteen years where he learned how to film and edit video. He came to St. Paul, Minnesota in September 2014.
