The abbreviations written on the envelope relates to the type of photographic paper S.P.V. (Special Portrait Velox) or G.V. (Glossy Velox) used to make a print from the negative. The length (seconds/minutes) of the exposure, the distance (feet), of the paper from the negatives, and the strength of the light source (candle power) was recorded.
