Judge Mendow sits behind his desk at his law office. The desk had previously belonged to Governor Bob Lafollette of Wisconsin. Judge Mendow continued to practice law until the age of 102.

Pedro Garcia, mayor of the village of Colmonanejo, ordered a sale of the goods of Joseph Hernandez to Francisco Xavier Hurraca. Hernandez was involved in some illicit affairs, resulting in the confiscation of his goods.
