The Taconite Hockey Trophy was for the game winner between University of Minnesota Duluth and University of Minnesota. According to the statistics at the bottom of the trophy, University of Minnesota Duluth won in 1978-79, 1979-80, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84, and 1984-85.
