It would appear that a number of Jesuits had been expelled from Lima for having engaged in the sale of cloth. The letter includes a number of summary accounts of the incident.

Short memo regarding the Governor's visit to the mission in 1647. Argues for the armament of the missions and dismisses rumours claiming that there is gold in the region. The Governor points out that these rumors were spread by the Bishop who was eager to control the land and population of the reducciones.
