The standard problem of optical tomography is to obtain information about the optical properties of an object by making measurements on the boundary. Acousto-optic tomography is a variation of this problem where the object is perturbed by an acoustic field, and optical boundary measurements are taken as the parameters of the acoustic field vary....

The acousto-optic effect is a phenomenon in which the presence of an acoustic wave changes the light transmission properties of an optical medium. Acousto-optic tomography (AOT) is a hybrid imaging method which takes advantage of this effect. The general idea is to modulate the optical properties of an optical medium by varying an acoustic wave,...

It has been noted that many realistic networks have a power law degree distributionand exhibit the small world phenomenon. We consider graph drawing methods that takeadvantage of recent developments in the modeling of such networks. Our main approach is to partition the edge set of a graph into 'local' edgesand 'global' edges, and to use a force-...

Computing reliable solutions to inverse problems is important in many applications such as biomedical imaging, computer graphics, and security. Regularization by incorporating prior knowledge is needed to stabilize the inversion process. In this talk, we develop a new framework for solving inverse problems that incorporates probabilistic informa...
