Morris Mirsky, wearing a blacksmith's apron, stands beside a horse with an unidentified rider. Morris Mirsky owned and operated a blacksmithing shop at 261 Texas Street in West Side Flats in St. Paul. His home was next door to the shop. The "Texas Street Synagogue" was across from the shop.

The photographs primarily document Base Hospital No. 26 including staff, wounded soldiers, and the camp grounds. Also included are several photographs of Dr. Moses Barron and scenes from the University of Minnesota. Many of the photographs are annotated on the back offering descriptions and identification of individuals pictured.
