England, about the year 1350 AD. Vellum leaf (6.5 x 5 inches) from a Book of Hours, Sarum use. Written in an unusually fine angular Gothic book hand, double columns, 30 lines, with several beautiful decorative initials on a gold background and ivy decorations extending into the margins.

Italy (Perugia) 1353 AD. Vellum leaf (12.5 x 9 inches) from a Missal of the Dominican order. Written in an excellent round Gothic hand, double columns, 26 lines, with large illuminated initial and other letters in red and blue with pen filigree decorations.
