September 24, 1938. The Golden Gophers opened the 1938 season with a 15-0 victory over the University of Washington. The Gophers finished the season 6-2 and were Big Ten Champions. This video features guard Francis Tweedell and halfback Larry Buhler. Buhler is a favorite son of Windom, MN where a statue of him was once prominently displayed.
